A friendly football match in Geneva, taken place in Stade de Geneve on 4th June 2006.
Great atmosphere, great weather and chance of close encounters with the likes of Cafu, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos etc.. hey, Xan even managed to get Cafu, the Brazilian skipper, to autograph her jersey!!
Brilliant.

Lugano, in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. The region is called Ticino. Lugano is a beautiful resort city near the Italian border (nearest Italian city is Milan).
Was there for about 3 days to cover an event for Swatch Watch : the launch of their new Jelly In Jelly collection on the 1st of June, right in the centre of Lugano (at the main piazza, Piazza De La Riforma)

Day 1 showtime !
The 1st ever Miri International Jazz Festival was held at The Pavillion, Park City Everly Hotel in the city of Miri, Sarawak. A resounding success it was! The festival saw strong crowd response and the performers themselves put up sterling performances worthy of the many encores requested (and obliged!)
Kudos to the organizer, Sarawak Tourism Board. The tireless personnel who worked day & nite to ensure a memorable debut fest, that is the Miri International Jazz Festival. Take a bow Gracie Geikie and her team, Michael, Jun Lin, Letitia, Benedict and many more!
Performers Day # 1 :
Syafiee Obe Hairunie & All The Best (Sarawak)
Nah Youn Sun (Korea & France)
UBlues featuring Trevor Jalla (Singapore & Sarawak)
Gangbe Brass Band (Benin)
Superb !

3rd to 5th March 2006 - Jakarta Convention Centre, Jakarta.
3 days of non-stop excellent jazz showcases from multi-international performers. I was overwhelmed by what I witnessed first hand and indeed, this is a festival that is one of its kind. I finally realized my dreams of watching LIVE in action top class jazz artistes such as Lee Ritenour, Bob James, Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler, Tetsuro Sakarai (ex bassist for Casiopea), Nathan East, Lenny Castro, Ricky Lawson, Hiromi (superb pianist from Japan), Filo Machado (the voice from Brazil) and many more.
Didn't get to take many pictures as I have some troubles with the camera equipment on the 1st day. But the trip to Jakarta (via Air Asia) was well worth it. Hard to believe that music festival such as this one took place in a city merely 2 hours from KL. Even harder to believe, I do not see many Malaysian (especially the artistes) took the advantage to come over and watch/learn a thing or two from these top-notch performers, save for Dayang Nurfaizah (who was there, in her own words, "to learn").
Proud to see that Malaysia was represented in the festival by female vocalist, Noryn Aziz, world-class drummer Lewis Pragasam, guitarist Josie Thomas and percussionist Steve Thornton (both joined forces with Krakatau leader, Dwiki Dharmawan in an awesome set).
Next Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival in 2007 will be on 2nd, 3rd & 4th March 2007. Mark your calendar!
