Blast Off Grand Final rehearsal .. a day before the finale!

Blast Off competition is coming to its Grand Final on 18th Feb and all 6 groups, Admonition, Siarra, Curtis Blues Review, Media Puppets, Frequency Cannon & K Town Clan are all set for the showdown.
These are some pics taken from the final rehearsal night at Orange Club, Jalan Kia Peng, KL.

Day trip to Morib Beach - not one of the best known beaches here

A day trip to Morib Beach (not far from Banting town) to check out the beach there.
Morib is still receiving quite a number of beach-goers, mainly the locals around there and other areas in Selangor.
A quaint little beach area. Basic amenities. Food stalls etc.
These days, folks tend to visit the more-popular Port Dickson Beach rather than Morib ...

Jugra Stadium in Banting, state of Selangor
At this point in time, it can really, really do with immediate repair work, refurbishing & sprucing up, BIG TIME.
This stadium is quite large for a municipal like Banting and it must have generated quite an excitement for the community around it when it was opened many, many years ago (I first heard about the stadium in the early 80's, so it must have been built way back, in the 50's? 60's? or 70's?)
Sadly, it has now turned into a sombre-looking stadium now.
We keep talking about improving the standard of sports in this country. But it is at grass-root level, like here in Banting, that we can start doing that! But not with the sports facilities in such poor conditions, as what one can see at The Jugra Stadium in Banting.
Visited this stadium on a day trip to the town of Banting, Jugra's Bandar Palace & also the Morib Beach.

I am a football (soccer) fan and, in need of some local football action, I attended the match between MK Land FC and Kedah in Selayang Municipal Stadium on 6th Feb 2005. 0-0 was the final scoreline. A good match no doubt. Another season and a new hope yet again for the game in Malaysia...

Pantai Merdeka in Kuala Muda, Kedah ... Revisited

The lesser-known Merdeka Beach in Kuala Muda district Kedah is a nostalgic scene for me as it is where I used to go when I was growing up in Sungai Petani town as a kid. My mum always took me & my sister for a weekend escapade to the scenic & idylic Pantai Merdeka, off the town of Tikam Batu, not far from Sungai Petani. Back then, every trip to Pantai Merdeka was always greeted with excitement that a kid of 8, or 9 or 10 years of age will exude..
